Don Diamont, who plays Bill on Bold and the Beautiful, was one of many soap stars who turned out for General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn’s Daytime Unites to help end ALS benefit last weekend. However, the actor is talking about the reason he chose to lend his name and time to this worthy cause.

Diamont posted on Instagram, thanks to Nancy Lee Grahn “for organizing #DaytimeUnites to benifit @als_one_official ! I lost one of my oldest, and dearest friends to ALS, so I was especially glad I could participate. Thanks to everyone involved!” The actor closed his post with a heart emoji and one for praying hands.

Diamont has spoken out about ALS in the past about his dear pal, Nanci Ryder, a publicist, who passed away from ALS in 2020 at the age of 67. Diamont has lent his name and his time for ALS programs and charities in the past. “Nanci, you are the bravest of the brave! I, and we LOVE YOU‼️” Diamont said when Ryder was braving her fight against the disease.

Currently, GH is telling a story about ALS with the character of Gregory Chase, played by Gregory Harrison. Viewers have seen Gregory fight to maintain his dignity as he is dealing with his diagnosis. Grahn shared on social media a big thanks to Diamont and her other daytime pals and the fans who showed up to attend the gala for their time and efforts.

In addition to Don Diamont, attendees included Annika Noelle (Hope), Stephen Nichols (Steve, Days of our Lives), Peter Bergman (Jack, Young and the Restless), Genie Francis (Laura, GH), and many more.

“All I did was ask, and without hesitation my gracious, wonderful, lovely colleagues showed up to help raise funds for #ALS. Because of them, and Daytime fans, we raised over 71K,” Grahn says. “I’m beyond grateful for their kindness and generosity. Xoxo ❤️❤️❤️.”
