Does DDG Believe in a ‘50/50’ Financial Split With Halle Bailey?

DDG is a popular rapper/content creator, but let’s be honest, he’s more well-known as Halle Bailey’s boyfriend and the father of her son. Since their relationship became public, the internet has offered a lot of opinions on their family, most of them not flattering.

First of all, their family is no one else’s business. However, if DDG is going to spend more time in the public eye, he needs to realize that, fair or not, his behavior reflects on Halle. Case in point: in his recent interview with The Shade Room he had some awkward opinions on parenthood and splitting finances 50/50. To save you some time and effort, we’ve gathered the weirdest moment from DDG’s appearance on “Keep It 100.”

50/50 Doesn’t Apply to Rich People

When it comes to the endlessly divisive topic of couples splitting finances 50/50, the YouTube star thinks things are different for families with more money.

“I think 50/50 is cool when it comes to—nah not 50/50,” he said. “I pay for a lot of stuff. I don’t think 50/50 is a thing when you have money. Me and her have money so it’s a little different.”

He went on to explain that it’s his duty to pay for things like rideshares, flights and dinners while they do tend to split expenses for their son.

Whatever works for him is fine, but as their family grows and their expenses become more complicated, he may find that a 50/50 split makes more sense for them.

Halle’s Pregnancy Wasn’t Real at First

It’s not uncommon for expectant parents to take some time with the idea of having a baby. However, most new dads don’t actually admit that it didn’t feel real to them until they were in the hospital room during the baby’s birth.

“I didn’t feel like a parent when she was pregnant. It just felt like her stomach was big until I actually saw him coming out because I pulled his head out and everything,” he said.

There was a pretty good reason why she was getting bigger.

He’s Halo’s Stylist

“I’m his stylist. I made sure I told Halle that was my job,” the rapper said. “We collaborate now, but when it comes to popping out to special events like playdates, I feel like that’s where I come in and put together the best outfits for him.”

For celebrity parents there’s a status that comes with dressing your baby in designer clothes. It’s not really about the kids, it’s about the parents. But little Halo is just going to spit up and poop on everything, so he doesn’t care if it’s a famous luxury brand or if you bought it at Walmart.

Halo Has a Custom Chain

“I got him a chain! It comes tomorrow. It’s a bustdown diamond chain, all real,” he said. “Me and the jeweler came up with a logo together. It’s like the letter H with a halo on top of it.”

This will be an adorable keepsake for he and his son to share down the road, but for right now, why does the baby need a chain? He’s a baby, he just thinks you’ve brought a shiny new toy into the room.

We wish DDG and Halle Bailey all the happiness with their new family, but maybe we don’t need to know everyone’s opinions on everything.
