When Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell look at each other, it makes us believe in love
One of our all-time fave celebrity couples celebrates its fifth anniversary today: Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.
If you’re looking for the ultimate love story, look no further than Kristen and Dax. They make the most adorable husband and wife, but they’re the first to admit that the secret to a successful marriage is hard work. They never fail to keep it real, and we just can’t get enough of them. Here are some of our favorite reasons why Kristen and Dax are the ultimate relationship goals.

They know how to give the best gifts. For Kristen’s 31st birthday, Dax surprised her with “a present that no one else will ever get in their lifetime.” This gift was inviting a sloth, her favorite animal, to her birthday party. “My entire life had been waiting for this moment,” Kristen told Ellen DeGeneres, explaining her full-blown meltdown before meeting her furry guest.
They are hilarious. If you haven’t seen their viral rendition of “Africa” by Toto, stop what you are doing now and watch the video below. They filmed it on their last vacation before having kids.
They waited until marriage was legal for everyone to get married themselves. Marrying before any of her friends who identify as LGBTQ could, Kristen said, “just felt gross.” Once there was marriage equality for all, the couple went to a courthouse, and the whole thing cost only $142 (including gas!). “We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse, and it was still one of the best days of my life,” Kristen told CBS.
They know that the important things in life are love and family, in good times and in bad. They have always been there for each other and their family, despite their differences. “He’s a wonderful father,” Kristen told CBS while tearing up. “He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years, and he pulled himself out of it … and he knows how many times he’s messed up and how many times he’s been really close to losing everything.”
