Chris Cuomo calls out Trump 2020 campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle for lying in heated exchange

Trump 2020 campaign senior adviser and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle joined Cuomo Prime Time on Thursday, and things got a bit heated.

Guilfoyle echoed the president’s claims that the Mueller report completely exonerated him of collusion and obstruction of justice, though in his first public appearance since the release of the report, Robert Mueller made it clear that’s not entirely the case.

“If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” Mueller said in a Wednesday news conference.

Cuomo then pointed out that the report said there was insufficient evidence to bring conspiracy charges, but that conspiracy and collusion are two different things. Cuomo made the argument that though there may not have been conspiracy, there was collusion, and in giving examples of such, he made a dig at Guilfoyle’s boyfriend, Donald Trump Jr.

“Manafort giving polling data to a guy with a connection to Russian intel: Stupid move,” Cuomo said. “Taking that meeting in Trump Tower: Stupid move.”

During the investigation, Trump refused to sit for an interview with the special counsel, opting instead to give written answer instead. Still, the president has claimed on multiple occasions to be the most transparent president in U.S. history. This was yet another issue on which Cuomo and Guilfoyle butted heads. While Guilfoyle insisted that Trump cooperated with the investigation and in doing so, proved he never obstructed justice, Cuomo argued that Trump can’t be proven innocent because he never sat down with Mueller.

Eventually Guilfoyle made an argument about Democratic fundraising compared to Trump campaign fundraising. But Cuomo quickly pointed out her assertion was false.

“This is what they’re raising money on,” Guilfoye said, “Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.” “So are you,” Cuomo replied. Guilfoyle responded, “I’m not raising money on impeachment.”

Cuomo then showed a Trump 2020 fundraiser with the subject line, “They want to impeach YOUR President.”
