PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Cin-Emma Extra returns this week with KOIN 6 resident movie buff Emma Jerome giving us her recommendations for what’s new and hot to the streaming world and theater.

First up is Baby Reindeer, streaming on Netflix now. A story told in the most honest way possible by the man who lived it, Baby Reindeer takes preconceived notions of abuse and flips them on their head.

New in theaters, we have The Fall Guy, directed by David Leitch and written by Drew Pearce, loosely based on the 1980s TV series about stunt performers. It follows a stuntman (Ryan Gosling) working on his ex-girlfriend’s (Emily Blunt) directorial debut action film, only to find himself involved in a conspiracy surrounding the film’s lead actor.

Emily Blunt is known for her jaw-dropping performance in Oppenheimer or acting with her husband, John Krasinki, in the Quiet Place movies. However, it’s worth turning back the clock and watching movies of hers from years back, such as The Devil Wears Prada.

In a genre flip, the next ‘Blunt-forward’ film on Jerome’s list is is Sicario. Directed by Denis Villenueve, the mind behind the Dune movies, Sicario is streaming on Prime Video now.
