One cancer survivor is speaking out about how Kate Middleton helped support her while she was undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Welsh professional dancer Amy Dowden—who fans may know from the British dance competition show Strictly Come Dancingwas diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023. At just 32 years old, she was forced to take a step back from her dancing career to undergo a mastectomy procedure as well as chemotherapy treatment.

But it was during one of her chemo sessions that Dowden was able to meet the princess, 42, whom she described as being "so kind."

"I was lucky enough to meet [Kate] during my chemo treatment, and she gave me so much time," Dowden, now 33, said during the Wednesday, April 24, episode of the British talk show Loose Women.

"She was so kind. Actually, her words were, 'Let us know if there's anything we can do,'" Dowden recalled.

As we know, the Princess of Wales is now fighting her own cancer battle, after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer following an abdominal surgery in January.

"I can't tell you how many times my parents would say they would do anything to take it away from me or them to have it instead of me," the pro dancer continued on Wednesday. "My mum's had cancer twice and it's just the thought [Kate] has to go through it in the public eye and she's got three young children."

While announcing her cancer diagnosis in March, Kate expressed her wish for privacy during this time, as she and Prince William continue to take care of their three children: Prince George, 10, Prince Charlotte, 8 and Prince Louis, 6.

And the princess isn't the only royal fighting a cancer battle, as King Charles is also dealing with a cancer diagnosis himself, though the specific details of his condition have also not been disclosed.
