Hot off the heels of a long-lost Beatles film coming to Disney+, a new book about the Fab Four is heating up the best-sellers charts online.

All You Need Is Love is billed as a “groundbreaking oral history” of The Beatles, composed of previously unreleased interviews with Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and those who knew them best. Released April 9, the new Beatles book quickly debuted in the top 5 of Amazon’s music books chart (it’s No. 2 as of this writing, just behind a rereleased version of Dave Grohl’s memoir).

Written by Peter Brown and Steven Gaines, the 352-page hardcover is presented in a Q&A interview format, with the band members, friends and families shedding new insight into the group’s formation, the band’s often fraught (but ultimately devoted) dynamic and how some of their biggest career moments came to be.
The book also explores the relationships The Beatles had with their business partners — and romantic partners. And the authors say the book will “contribute definitively as to why The Beatles broke up.”
As the book’s subtitle offers, the stories are “Unpublished, Unvarnished, and Told by The Beatles and Their Inner Circle.” The book is currently available in hardcover (on sale for just $20), on Kindle, or as an audiobook, which you can listen to at no cost with a free trial to Audible.
All of the interviews in the book were conducted by Brown and Gaines between 1980 and 1981, as the two prepared their manuscript for the Beatles book The Love You Make, which spent four months on the New York Times best-seller list and went on to become one of the biggest-selling biographies worldwide about the group.

The book, which was rereleased in 2002, was written by Brown, who was a business manager for the band and the best man at John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s wedding. As the publisher notes state, “This book tells the inside story of the music and the madness, the feuds and the drugs, the marriages and the affairs — from the greatest heights to the self-destructive depths of the Fab Four.”
The latest Beatles book, meantime, comes on the heels of news that Disney+ is adding the seminal 1970 Beatles film Let It Be to its platform, arriving May 8, 2024. This is the first time that the film has been made available to watch online in 50 years.
The film has also been digitally restored by Peter Jackson, who directed the 2021 Beatles documentary for Disney+ The Beatles: Get Back.
