BBQ, cornhole competition, live music coming to CT Sun BBQ Fest
Smoky flavors, tender meats, cold beer and cocktails will be on tap at Mohegan Sun on June 15 and 16, as Sun BBQ Fest returns.
The event is scheduled to take place from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The weekend event will include live music, 50 plus food trucks, BBQ.
Guests can compete in a People’s Choice Competition, judging a rib, wing, and burger for $1 per sample.
Tickets to Sun BBQ Fest are now on sale via Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun box office.
Kids 12-years-old and under receive free admission all weekend.
Guests who purchase a ticket to Sun BBQ Fest will be automatically entered to win a Pit Boss Sportsman 820 Wood Pellet Grill. A winner will be announced at 4:45 p.m. on June 16, on the main stage. Guests do not need to be present to win.
Chef demonstrations will take place throughout the day with presentations from Chef Plum, Chef Erica Roby and other BBQ pit masters.
Also at the event, Wicked Cornhole will host a pro-standard Cornhole Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, with three winners each day.

Guests who purchase a ticket to Sun BBQ Fest in addition to downloading the Scoreholio app will be eligible to participate in the tournament.
From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday there will be a Bubbles & Brews Tailgate before the fireworks display and performances by Country stars, Chase Bryant and Jon Langston on the main stage.
