American Idol is getting closer to picking the winner of the 2024 competition as tonight the Top 7 was reduced by two to the Top 5 as judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan critiqued the performances, but America voted.

Tonight, each of the Top 7 performed twice. Once singing dance songs from various artists, and then taking on a hit song from Grammy Award-winning artist Adele and making it their own. Multiplatinum superstar Ciara served as guest mentor.

Also, Meghan Trainor, who mentored earlier this season, returned to perform her singles "To the Moon" and "Been Like This."

Then America voted live for the Top 5.
