YB Loves: Hair Products as Good as a Keratin Treatment

Each day the editors of Yahoo Beauty are sharing one noteworthy product we feel should be on your radar. From the latest and greatest items that land on our desks to indie products with a cool backstory to the old standbys that have earned a permanent place on our vanities, trust us: you’ll want to check them out.

Peter Coppola is known as the godfather of keratin, as his salon smoothing treatment is considered the industry gold standard, and is used in thousands of salons. How did Coppola nab this unofficial title? His keratin smoothing treatment does not contain formaldehyde or aldehyde and it actually works. My local salon offers his treatment, and it’s been a godsend to help tame my thick hair, which tends to mushroom on humid days. The treatment has slashed my blow-drying time and keeps my hair looking smooth even in the summer. It would be safe to say I’m addicted to it.

As a fan of his keratin treatment, I was thrilled to see that Coppola just launched a new consumer line of hair care products. Available at Ulta stores and online the new collection includes a Sulfate-Free Shampoo ($20) and a conditioner so rich that I skipped my usual leave-in spray conditioner and dose of Moroccan Oil. Fans of super-straight hair will love his Just Blow Blow Out Spray ($24). A few pumps of this heat-activated spray is applied to wet hair and helps cut down on blow drying hair and leaves tresses extra smooth and straight. I tried it on a drizzly morning and my hair stayed straight and smooth.

Coppola has also debuted an Infusion Anti-Frizz Cream ($30), which helps combat humidity and frizz, as well as moisturizing Argan Oil Polish ($30). For those who prefer a beach babe look, the Mud Texturizing Cream ($24) can help create messier waves. Ladies with over processed hair can add a moisture boost with the Total Repair Smoothing Mask ($40), and his hairsprays in Titanium or Steel ($24 each) holds helps keep in hair in place and add shine, will letting hair still have moment.
