Imagine you are on a date with Ryan Reynolds. You are thrilled of course to be spending time with the charming and beyond handsome actor. But the problem is you are on a double date and his attention isn’t on you—it’s on the other guy’s date who just so happens to be Blake Lively. What was probably a nightmare dating scenario for Reynold’s and Lively’s respective dates, turned out to be a dream for the star couple who is now married and parents to baby daughter James, 1.

Reynolds recounted the story on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Deadpool special. “About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single we went on a double date – she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl – and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across,“ he said. Awkward indeed, proving if you have a chance to date a celebrity, don’t invite another celebrity along. The only time where double dating might be a good idea is if you aren’t sure about your date, since you might have another option right in front of you.
