Award season is incredibly busy for celebrities, but it might be even more hectic for their colorists. As Redken’s celebrity colorist and the owner of Mêche salon in Beverly Hills, Tracey Cunningham is perhaps the most well known hair color guru in Hollywood. Some of the biggest stars in the biz have been whizzing through her doors, so we asked Cunningham to share some stats on the past two weeks leading up to the Oscars. What does it take to dye the most iconic heads of hair? Let’s just say there may be a shortage of foil in Tinseltown.
Clients you’ve dyed in the past two weeks: 29 celebrities in 14 days if I’m counting right, but this doesn’t even include my clients who are producers, wives of producers, cast members, and clients who are lucky enough to attend the awards! Where do I begin. Jennifer Lopez, Ali Larter, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amanda Peet, Emma Stone, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Biel, Fergie, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner, Sarah Paulson, Camila Alves, Dakota Johnson, Minka Kelly, Kate Beckinsale, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kate Walsh, Charlize Theron, Amy Poehler, Naomi Watts, Shakira, Maria Sharapova, Lily Aldridge, Bryce Dallas Howard, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian.
Time spent at the salon: 168 hours.
Celebrity house calls made: 6, including Emma Stone and Jennifer Lopez.
