By now, you’ve probably watched Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video at least once…okay, probably more than once since the video has over 32 million views in less than a week. But just in case you missed it (check it out below if that’s the case), the video follows a Swift-led girl gang. In her uber-cool group? Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, and Karlie Kloss, just to name a few. As they prepare for a battle against Selena Gomez’s character, Arsyn, it was impossible not to notice that all of the gang members have seriously good hair.

Those sleek, futuristic styles are the work of hairstylist Mary Curran, a stylist at Fred Segal Salon in Santa Monica was brought on to lead the hair team on the shoot. It was her job to develop the modern, smooth, and sculpted styles you saw on Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba, Martha Hunt, Karlie Kloss, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, Ellen Pompeo, Mariska Hargitay, Hailee Steinfeld, and Selena Gomez. Needless to say, it was a big job.

When it came to creating the specific looks, Curran and her team sketched out looks for each character. The team relied on an arsenal of Bumble and bumble products and a whole lot of water during her six days on set. “A lot of it was about using a combination of water and a styling products to really get the hair wet to mold it where it needed to go, before using a product that was meant to hold it into place,” she says. “The water made things workable.”

Below, Curran shares some of her tips for creating the video looks and the products you need to get your own girl gang hair.

Karlie Kloss as Knockout
The Key Product: Bumble and bumble Surf Infusion Spray ($29)

It gives that wet look without feeling thick and heavy. “I was spraying it on damp hair and messing it up with my hands,” says Curran, of Kloss’ hair during the boxing scene. “I would keep reapplying every time it didn’t have the shine I wanted on camera.”

Gigi Hadid as Slay-Z
The Key Product: Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer ($27)

“You should use a heat and thermal protector if you’re using any kind of styling products,” says Curran. “It helps to protect the hair cuticle. It’s almost like a leave in conditioner but it doesn’t leave the hair slimy.”

Zendaya as Cut-Throat
The Key Product: Bumble and bumble Sumowax ($29)

“I used this to get all of the curls and any unwanted frizz from along the hairline,” says Curran. Instead of relying a teasing comb to create volume, Curran used it to carefully smooth hair down.

Lily Aldridge as Frostbyte
The Key Product: Bumble and bumble Dryspun Finish Spray ($30)

“I curled her hair with a Marcel curling iron. Then I finger combed through it to finish,” says Curran. “The Dryspun was my lifesaver, it kept her roots lifted.” This meant that in the scene wear Aldridge is wearing that fur hood, her hair held the volume instead of getting matted down.
