Chrissy Teigen loves a good topknot, but this week, she took her hair to a new height. Chrissy wore a topknot so tight that she had a facelift for the night, and the dramatic look is gorgeous, albeit painful.

The facelift hairstyle is known as the Croydon Facelift, and was popularized by Kate Moss. And while the look can give you a fresh flare when worn just for the night like Chrissy Teigen, those who wear it too often are prone to traction alopecia — hair loss surrounding the hairline. Researchers in a 2012 study warned that the style could permanently damage the hair and scalp. So, if you decide to wear a look this tight, be sure to do so only on occasion. The researchers recommend “hair holidays,” where women take a regular day off from styling their hair to let it recover.

Chrissy accentuated the look with a warm, matte brown smoky eye. Blending up above the crease in the outer corners of her eyes, the smoky eye draws attention to the drama in her face. Her brows are equally bold and arched for added intensity. Even Chrissy’s bronzed contour plays up her temporary facelift. She completed the look with a dark, pinky nude lip and a hint of highlighter over her décolleté, bringing all the attention to her luminous skin and emphasized bone structure.
