Zendaya has come a long way since her early Disney Channel days, when she’d wear glossy ringlets and bright pink lipstick . Now, even more mature and stylish, the singer, actress, and dancer is gearing up for the much-anticipated summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming and slaying every photo op for the film with her makeup looks. At one of the Spider-Man press days, Zendaya sported a burnt-orange smoky eye with highlighted skin and a muted copper lip color. Eager to learn new ways to wear the classic smoky eye, Yahoo Beauty asked makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes to break down the steps and show us how to Copy That! Step-by-step instructions Tightline upper lash line with a black eyeliner like Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil. Brush on a neutral eyeshadow base across eyelids and lower lash line. Hughes used shades 2 and 3 from Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette Beauty Glow. Apply the burnt orange-red matte shadow called He Devil from the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette to lid and blend into crease for depth. Use shadows 3 and 7 from the same Charlotte Tilbury palette to highlight brow bone and inner corners of eyes. Coat top lashes with a volumizing mascara such as L'Oréal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara. To give skin a dewy finish, use a highlighting stick similar to Glossier Haloscope in Quartz on the temples, cheekbones, and bridge of nose. For fall, we love the versatile look of a grey smoky eye. A popular and versatile style, the smoky eye has been back in the spotlight ever since Amy Schumer thanked her makeup artist, Andréa Tiller, on stage at the Emmys for giving her the look. We reached out to Tiller and makeup artist Fiona Stiles to give us their foolproof tips and rounded up our favorite fall smoky shadow palettes so you can DIY at home. Photo: Ben Ritter The smoky eye is one of the most classic beauty looks. For this holiday season, we wanted to give you a complete guide to perfecting the smoky eye and to do it, we turned to Kimberly Soane, the Director of Global Artistry at Bobbi Brown and an all around makeup guru. “You will get fallout while doing a smoky eye so it’s easier to clean up the fallout without having to also reapply your concealer and foundation,” says Soane. Most people think to do their eyes as a final step, but when you’re going for a smoky eye do it first.

By Emily Farra Cara Delevingne may have won Model of the Year at last night’s British Fashion Awards , but she also topped our list for the evening’s best lids. It’s hard not to associate the Brit with beauty trends (her brows caused tweezer sales to plummet), so we wouldn’t be surprised if her bronze smoky eyes cause shadow sales to spike. Big sister Poppy made a similar move by rimming her top and bottom lash lines with a deep chocolate hue and fattening up fringe with loads of black mascara. For a palette that produces both looks for the price of one, we suggest snapping up Chanel’s new Rêve D’Orient palette or Yves Saint Laurent’s Couture Palette Wild Edition.

Kristen Stewart and Felicity Jones are feeling blue. And at the 17th Annual Hollywood Film Awards last Friday night, we saw the trend in full force yet again. This time, Felicity Jones and Kristen Stewart took the concept one step further with sultry, smoky eyes in an unexpected shade of indigo.
