Pebble Beach Car Week Slideshow

This is the kind of thing you see in the hotel parking lot at Pebble Beach: The Aston V12 Zagato concept. I'd thought that Aston sort of painted itself into a corner with its current styling motif, but I'd like to publicly refute that sentiment. This thing looks wicked. And, more importantly, different from other Astons.

Just your typical parking lot. The Inn at Spanish Bay wasn't even in the thick of the action, and the valet area still looks like this. "What do we do with the 16M? There's no room." "Just park it in front of that Carrera GT and the Veyron."

Poor Saab. I hope they paid for this stand a long time ago.

Prepare to enter the chaos. There are cars somewhere down there in that crowd.

This is the surreal view at Pebble, and also part of the challenge of taking it all in. I could wander around one Ferrari 250 for an hour, soaking it all in. Here, there's a row of them. Parked on one of the world's great golf courses, next to the ocean. This might've blown my fuse for being impressed by anything ever again.

"Hey, who wants to play golf at Pebble Beach today?" Bring some extra divot mix on the day after the Concours. By the looks of it, it was some sort of old dually that pierced the turf.

Here's how you know when the show is over. Remember the Aston Zagato? That was parked in this spot just a few hours before. But now it's time to return to reality.
