InMotion IM01, the racer that plans to tame the 'Ring: First Look

The InMotion IM01 is a hybrid race car designed by students at the Technical University of Einhoven and Fontys University of Applied Science. Their mission is simple: To beat the long-standing record of Stefan Bellof's 6 minute 11.3 second lap around the Nurburgring, set during qualifying for the 1,000 km race in a Porsche 956 in 1983. Further, the team wants to compete out of Garage 56 (in the experimental category) at the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's a pair of lofty goals, and we look forward to seeing if they can achieve it. Regardless, it's refreshing to hear of students working on such an innovative project within the high-tech world of motorsports.
