  • After a series of teasers, Nissan has finally revealed the 2013 Nissan Altima at the 2012 New York Auto Show. Touting its technical innovation, Nissan promises a suite of features that include blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning and a moving object detection system—to avert any rogue grocery carts drifting your way. The heavily contoured exterior design strikes a more Maxima-like athletic stance, with the front and rear track widened by 1.4 inches. Two engine choices will be offered, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 182 horsepower, and the venerable VQ35 V-6, good for 270 horsepower (power figures are estimates). Nissan expects a 27 city and 38 highway mpg for the 4-banger, and a 22 city and 30 highway mpg for the V-6/CVT.
