2015 Porsche Panamera Turbo S Executive Stretches Its Legs in Tokyo

At this year's Tokyo Motor Show, Porsche will debut the updated 2015 Porsche Panamera Turbo S model, which the automaker claims will attain a top speed of 192 mph courtesy of its 570-horsepower, twin-turbocharged, 4.8-liter V-8 engine. While that clearly illustrates how the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S stretches its legs, owners preferring to ride rather than drive can now stretch their own legs in a long-wheelbase Executive version that has 4.7 extra inches of rear-seat legroom.

Whether or not you believe that a Panamera Turbo S Executive buyer who sits in the back rather than behind the steering wheel demonstrates a complete lack of understanding about what this car is for, there's no misunderstanding that everyone aboard will achieve rapid velocity in impressive haste. Porsche claims this model will accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

That's because the Panamera Turbo S makes 50 more horsepower than a standard Panamera Turbo, and torque rises to 553 lb.-ft. between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm, with an overboost function delivering 590 lb.-ft. for short bursts, such as when overtaking slower vehicles. A 7-speed automated manual transmission with Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus driving modes delivers the power to all four wheels through a standard Porsche Traction Management system. Additional hardware includes launch control, ceramic composite braking components, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, active roll stabilization, and an active suspension with Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus settings.
