LIVE PHOTOS: 2017 Lincoln Continental

From Road & Track

It's here, people. The production-ready 2017 Lincoln Continental was officially revealed at 12:01 AM today. And we've just had our chance to crawl all over it in person.

Seen in real life, the Continental is large, but not imposing. Lincoln CEO Kumar Galhotra told R&T that the Continental has "slightly better packaging" than the long-wheelbase BMW 5-series sold in China. The Continental definitely feels spacious, but it doesn't have the massive visual impression of, say, a Cadillac CTS. It comes across more airy, brighter.

As we mentioned early this morning, the Continental features some whiz-bang door handles. They're "handles" in the most literal sense-they're solidly mounted to the door, with no moving parts other than a small button hidden on the back side that activates the electronic latches. A button on the interior door panel pops the door open from inside, Corvette-style.
