In the backwaters of automotive history swim many models born from desperation. Take this 1939 Graham sedan, the attempt by the former Graham-Paige Motors to recapture some of the style of its brief heyday a decade earlier. While the supercharged engines offered sufficient punch, the design soon became known derisively as the "sharknose." Today, as shown by Greg Gjerdingen, it still stands apart.
