April 25: Porsche was founded on this date in 1931
On this date in 1931, Ferdinand Porsche registered his automobile company in Stuttgart. Financed by co-founders Anton Piëch and Adolf Rosenberger, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (GmbH), Konstruktion und Beratung für Motoren- und Fahrzeugbau (which translates to "Honorary Doctor of Engineering Ferdinand Porsche Limited Liability Company (LLC), Design and Consultancy for Engines and Vehicles"), spent the better part of two decades designing cars for other companies (and another guy named Adolf). Porsche's first self-branded production car, the 356, would not appear until 1948.
