Semi truck fire delays traffic along I-5 near Grapevine Rd

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A fire to a semi truck carrying cardboard is causing delays Thursday afternoon along northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Grapevine Road.

The fire was reported at around 1:53 p.m. in northbound lanes just north of Grapevine Road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page. The truck was carrying 23,000 pounds of cardboard products.

Lanes were temporarily blocked for fire crews to handle the semi truck fire. Traffic was backed up for miles into Gorman, officials said.
