2 dead, 2 injured in Sherwood crash, car fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A two car crash which left one of the vehicles on fire killed two people and injured two others, prompting response from Tualatin Fire & Rescue crews early Saturday morning.

Just before 6:30 a.m., firefighters and Tigard Police officers were dispatched to the crash at Roy Rogers Road and Perth Road. When they arrived, witnesses reported a Nissan Altima had rolled over onto its top and was on fire after crashing into an oncoming GMC Terrain.

Fire crews were able to successfully put out the car fire and extricate the three people inside. However, the driver and one of the passengers died from their injuries. The other passenger and the driver of the Terrain were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities say.

No other information, including the identities of the victims or the cause of the crash, has been released at this time.
