Prosecutors seek to bar Trump in classified files case from statements endangering law enforcement
Federal prosecutors on Friday asked the judge overseeing the classified documents case against Donald Trump to bar the former president from public statements that “pose a significant, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement agents” participating in the prosecution. The request to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon follows a false claim by Trump earlier this week that the FBI agents who searched his home in August 2022 were “authorized to shoot me” and were “locked & loaded ready to take me out & put my family in danger.”

GUATEMALA CITY (Reuters) -Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo confirmed on Friday that China had rejected entry to some shipments from the Central American nation, and speculated that it could be due to Guatemala's relationship with Taiwan. The day before, Guatemala's exporters association had reported that seven containers of macadamia nut had been unable to enter China so far and that traders had been told Guatemalan macadamia and coffee would be denied entry. Beijing claims that both China and Taiwan belong to "one China," which Taiwan rejects.

An initiative that would amend the Nevada Constitution to require that voters show photo identification at the polls can appear on the 2024 ballot as long as organizers collect enough signatures, the state Supreme Court ruled Friday. Organizers must gather just over 100,000 valid signatures by June 26 for it to be eligible. The initiative also calls for an extra layer of verification for mail ballots, such as the last four digits of a driver's license or Social Security number.

Bird flu has been detected in beef for the first time, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Friday, but officials said the meat from a single sickened dairy cow was not allowed to enter the nation's food supply and beef remains safe to eat. The USDA said the virus was found as part of testing of 96 dairy cows that were diverted from the supply because federal inspectors noticed signs of illness during routine inspections of carcasses at meat processing plants. Bird flu was found in only one of those cows.
