Kermit the Frog Tells Us What to Expect From 'The Muppets'

We’re big Muppet fans here at Yahoo TV, but we weren’t exactly sure what to think of ABC’s new fall sitcom, The Muppets. So we went straight to the source — Kermit the Frog himself — to find out what’s in store.

In the video above, our old pal Kermit tells us the new show follows Kermit and the gang around, mockumentary-style, as they live their everyday lives. But he assures longtime fans that it’s still all G-rated: “There will be nothing on this show their kids can’t watch.”

Kermit admits he’s not a huge fan of having documentary cameras following him everywhere he goes: “Oftentimes, the cast members tend to forget that the cameras are there… I never forget.”

And how does he handle the chaos of working with all of his Muppet pals again? “I handle it by censoring myself,” he tells us. Oh, Kermit: always a model of self-restraint. But that’s the opposite of his famous co-star (and ex) Miss Piggy, he adds: “She has no filter. Just open her mouth, and it just comes falling out.”

The Muppets premieres Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
