The 10 Best 'America's Funniest Home Videos' Ever

It’s hard to imagine a time when America’s Funniest Home Videos wasn’t on TV delighting viewers with its buffet of falling brides, whiffle ball crotch-shots, and assorted animal hijinks. But it was merely 25 years ago tomorrow — Nov. 26, 1989 to be exact — when AFV first hit the airwaves as a primetime special. What do you get a TV institution for its birthday? In this case, Yahoo TV asked AFV's creator Vin Di Bona to give us a gift by choosing his top 10 favorite videos from the show’s last 25 years. And his list did not disappoint. Let’s roll tape!

10. “Grandpa Piñata Whack” (2005)
Vin says: His facial expression at the moment of the crotch-hit looks like a 3 Stooges reaction… We feel his pain!

9. “The Bride and the Bee” (1997)
Vin says: She’s got a raspy voice and a wicked swing.

8. “Chimp Sniffs Butt” (1999)
Vin says: Sometimes chimps have no etiquette.

7. “Dog Eat Dog” (2005)
Vin says: Sometimes dogs are just stupid!

6. Quad Squad (2001)
Vin says: I’ve seen this clip a hundred times — four babies laughing at the same time makes it impossible NOT to laugh. (Editor’s note: This is the winningest clip in AFV history, taking a total of six grand prizes.)

5. “Dracula Jazz Hands” (1994)
Vin says: The guy is just one big wimp!

4. “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” (2004)
Vin says: Sweetness personified: A young child who understands the greatness of being 5.

3. “Fake Electrocution Scare”
Vin says: What can I say? Boys will be boys.

2.  “Easter Bunny Surprise” (1997)
Vin says: Sometimes terror in a child’s eyes can be so funny when they meet up with a holiday icon.

And Vin Di Bona’s favorite video from AFV’s 25-year history features a little girl who’s all too familiar with the “pause” button on her portable DVD player…

1. “Pause For Applause” (2012)
Vin says: This points to what our future will be about as all our gadgets take new meaning in our vocabulary.

So, fans of home-grown hilarity, did your favorite make the list?
