‘Suits’ Sneak Peek: Donna Prepares Harvey to Face His Mother

The Feb. 1 episode of USA’s Suits, “The Painting,” is one longtime fans won’t want to miss, and not just because Harvey (Gabriel Macht) spends a fair amount of it dressed business-casual.

As you see in the exclusive sneak peek above, once he receives some more words of encouragement from Donna (Sarah Rafferty), he heads to Boston to reconcile with his mother, Lily (Brynn Thayer), whom he hasn’t seen in seven years. The episode includes lengthy flashbacks to the last time they were together — the day of Harvey’s father’s funeral. In other words, it’s an emotional hour.

“You’re going to see [Harvey] follow through on getting in touch with why he is the way he is,” Macht told Yahoo TV recently. “We will see some of his vulnerability come out even more. … I remember shooting some moments where Harvey was extremely revealing of what’s going on inside him and how sensitive he is.”

Billy Miller returns as Harvey’s brother, Marcus, who plays a key role in both the past and present day.

Meanwhile, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) makes progress on the job front. “I think for the next episode or two, they’re on their own paths, and they’re really trying to figure out what their journey is separate from each other,” Macht said. “Then, I think, little by little, they accept each other’s rightful journey and, little by little, things start happening where they end up needing each other. … I think as we get closer to the end of this season, 6B, you’re going to see them make every effort to try and work together.”

Suits airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA.
