Sick Burn! 'MasterChef Junior' Contestant Scalds Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay made $60 million last year from his various restaurants and global television empire. But you know what they say: You’re never too rich to get scalded by a 12-year-old braising meat. They do say that, right?

This week’s MasterChef Junior gives us a look at some of the highs and lows of Ramsay’s life. Have a peek at the lavishnesss of Ramsayville, where the world-famous chef clips hedges in a robe and lounges by the pool with his French bulldog, King George. The children are in awe — which isn’t unusual given their age. In this case, though, even adults might be impressed by the estate. “I cannot believe I’m at Gordonius Ramsius’s house!” gushes JJ.

Maybe that’s why he’s got butterfingers later in the episode. The Blue Team is pulling filets out of the oven — pans full of sizzling meat, juices, and oil. Gordon attempts to help them; they are children, after all, and there’s a reason society frowns upon young children working in restaurant kitchens. JJ slips and spills a pan fresh out of the oven on Gordon’s foot. Even for someone who’s spent his life getting splashed with all kinds of scalding liquids, it’s a lot.

Could this be JJ’s last week on the show? As one of last two 12-year-olds (the oldest age allowed) on the show, he was a frontrunner coming in. But how impartial would you be if you were judging someone who just sent you to the medic?

MasterChef Junior airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
