Matt Lauer Asks Donald Trump if He Has a Crush on Megyn Kelly

As you may have heard, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been in an ongoing feud with Megyn Kelly after the first GOP debate, where Trump thought Kelly asked him “inappropriate questions.”

The most recent chapter in this story involves Trump tweeting negative comments about Kelly as she returned to her Fox News post after a brief vacation. On Wednesday’s edition of Today, Matt Lauer asked Trump why he’s allowed Kelly to get under his skin.

Trump responded, “I mean, you tweet a few tweets or few retweets, in this case, that’s not getting under your skin. I personally am not a fan; I don’t think she does a good job. I don’t think she’s a very good professional and I think, frankly, the show’s better without her, but that’s up to them, and they can do whatever they want. I respect, I respect Roger Ailes; he can do whatever he wants. I don’t care.”

Lauer then asked Trump if he had a crush on Kelly. “It starts to sound a little bit — and take this in the right way, Donald — like you’re a guy with a schoolyard crush,” Lauer said. “When we’re in elementary school and junior high school, guys often say the meanest things about the girls they like the most.” Trump replied, “Trust me, Matt, there is no crush. That I can tell you. And as far as I was concerned during the debate, she asked me questions that were totally inappropriate.”
