Jason Sudeikis and Stephen Colbert Write Song for Average NCAA Basketball Players

CBS runs a “One Shining Moment” highlights montage of the NCAA Basketball Tournament annually, but this year The Late Show With Stephen Colbert thought they would do something different. Stephen Colbert and guest Jason Sudeikis sang about the average plays and average players.

Their duet included such lyrics as, “Chest passes, bounces passes, other types of passes, impressed that the bench held all of your asses.”

They also honored South Carolina’s mascot, the Gamecock, by shouting “cock” repeatedly.

Near the end of the video, they poked fun at famous sports announcer Verne Lundquist, who was hit in the face by a basketball during an on-air taping.

The song was a fun way honor the kids who were there to support their team, even though they may not be superstars.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
