Golden Globes: Duffer Brothers Tease ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

As Stranger Things fans, we’d never forgive ourselves if we let creators Ross and Matt Duffer get past us on the Golden Globes red carpet without trying to squeeze a few details out of them about Season 2 of the Golden Globe-nominated series, which is filming now. “We’ve got this doorway to another dimension that’s still open,” says Ross Duffer. And Will’s long stay in the Upside Down is probably going to have “some adverse effects,” he adds.

There are new characters played by Paul Reiser and Sean Astin, and Matt Duffer also notes that Season 2 of Stranger Things will take place in 1984, which he says was “a great year for pop culture.” Indeed, Matt hints that one of the movies that came out in the summer of 1984 “will have an impact on the plot.”

Hmmm — which movie do you think he means? Some of the biggies that summer: Karate Kid, Sixteen Candles, Revenge of the Nerds, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Time to start rewatching before Stranger Things returns to Netflix … sometime in 2017, we hope.
