'Game of Thrones' Stars Talk Comic-Con Fans and Preparing for the End

The cast of HBO’s Game of Thrones made the pilgrimage to San Diego Comic-Con once again, bringing some uninitiated Con-goers along for the ride. The result was equal parts shock and awe, and a whole lot of appreciation. Yahoo TV caught up with stars Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, the possibly departed Rory McCann, and the definitely departed Rose Leslie and Pedro Pascal to get their take on all the fan love and, in some cases, being faced with saying goodbye. Watch the video, above, to see it all.

Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, was soaking it all up in her first fan convention experience, but admitted that even with thousands of fans screaming her name, the success of the show still hasn’t sunk in.

"I don’t think it’s going to hit me until it’s over," Turner said of the show’s global reach. "It’s so bad but I really don’t appreciate it now, and I know I will. It feels like a dream right now. Like, I can’t… it’s not sinking in. But I’m sure when it all ends … when I’m homeless and broke, I’ll be like ‘Damn, they were good days.’"

Pascal, who played the ill-fated Oberyn Martell, compared his first Comic-Con to a rock concert, but got a little sentimental when talking about being with his now-former castmates. “I’m trying to relish every moment that I can spend with them. I know that many of us will be in touch. I’m not going to let many of them go. It’s just basking in this amazing aftermath. It continues to be this relentlessly amazing experience. I know it sounds corny, but it’s really true.”

Not everyone realized the show would be as huge as it is today — specifically Harington, who plays that know-nothing Jon Snow. “I read it and I was like, ‘This could be terrible. This could be one of the worst shows ever made. Or it could be one of the most incredible.’ What I did know about it is there was nothing like it I’d ever seen before. I went into my audition as Jon Snow really, really, really desiring the part. Whether it failed or whether it was brilliant, I knew that I’d done something that no one had ever done before.”

McCann, who plays Sandor Clegane, better known as The Hound, teased a possible Season 5 spoiler: “I still can’t believe I’m in it. Or was in it. Or am I in it? I don’t know. It’s great to be part of this.”

But Jon Snow is certainly still alive — at least for now — and Harington had some advice for his fans and fellow castmembers: “We’ve only got a few seasons left guys, so let’s all enjoy it together.”

Game of Thrones Season 5 will premiere in 2015 on HBO.
