E! to Air 2-Part Bruce Jenner Special 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce'

If you were curious why the notoriously camera-ready Kardashians were absent from Diane Sawyer’s recent 20/20 interview with Bruce Jenner, wonder no longer — E! has announced a two-part special, Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, that will feature interviews with Jenner and the many members of the Kardashian clan who didn’t appear in the ABC sit-down with Sawyer.

The first part of the special will premiere Sunday, May 17 at 9 p.m., with part two following on Monday, May 18 at 9 p.m.

According to E!, the two-parter will “capture intimate conversations and intensely emotional moments that Bruce Jenner has with his* Kardashian family as they discuss his transition. The special will take an earnest look at the family’s struggle to process their own feelings as they work through hearing from Bruce directly about finally living life as the person he’s always known himself to be. In the special Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie and Scott speak candidly with Bruce, ask many questions and begin to understand the tough journey he’s been on his entire life. Through difficult and direct conversations, the family’s unfiltered reactions are surprising, thoughtful and ultimately compassionate and supportive. Through sharing their own family’s story, the Kardashians are hoping to help other families experiencing the same thing. The special also includes family home video footage that reminds viewers and the family of the special times they spent with Bruce as a father, husband and friend, and serves as inspiration for the memories they’ll create as Bruce lives his ‘new normal.‘”

The special is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and Ryan Seacrest Productions. Bruce Jenner serves as executive producer, with Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins and Farnaz Farjam serving as executive producers for Bunim/Murray Productions. Ryan Seacrest executive produces for Ryan Seacrest Productions. Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West and Khloé Kardashian also serve as executive producers.

Following the E! special, Jenner will headline a new eight-part docuseries following his journey, which will premiere Sunday, July 26 on E!.

*Per E!: Please note, at this time, Bruce Jenner is choosing to not live publicly in the media as a woman and will be referred to as Bruce Jenner and with male pronouns in this announcement.
