'MasterChef Junior' Sneak Peek: Cheese and Space — A Match Made in the Heavens

Sure, all the kids on MasterChef Junior say they want to be chefs, but it turns out most of them also wouldn’t mind growing up to be astronauts. This week, real-life astronaut Tracy Dyson visits the MasterChef kitchen and the results are stellar.

Sorry, Corey: There isn’t a chunk of moon under this week’s Mystery Box. And sorry, Kamilly: Though the secret ingredient is cheese, the moon isn’t made of it. But most of us would agree with Ian when he says, “I love cheese!” with all the enthusiasm that only an 8-year-old can muster.

Dyson, who spent nearly six months in space, knows a thing or two about how awful food can be. Everything up there is dried, sealed in plastic, and reconstituted with water on the space station. So it’s a shame she doesn’t get to stick around to see what the tiny chefs make with their selection of more than a dozen cheeses. Fortunately, we do.

MasterChef Junior airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
