'Zoo' Premiere: James Wolk's Instagram Takeover

Leading up to the June 30 premiere of CBS's 13-episode summer thrill ride Zoo, star James Wolk took over Yahoo TV's Instagram to share 10 behind-the-scenes photos.

In the adaptation of James Patterson's best-seller, he plays Jackson Oz — an American zoologist running safaris in Africa who comes to realize that his late father’s controversial theory that animals would one day turn on humans wasn’t so crazy after all.

Judging from the photos, Jackson is in for some close animal encounters (and not all of them will be as safe as "Stuffy"), a few cuts and bruises (the actor gives props to the show's makeup team), and a need for dry clothes (there's no Titanic tank here, just a dumpster). “He’s not changing into a cape in a telephone booth,” Wolk tells Yahoo TV. “But yeah, when you’re out on safari and dealing with a global pandemic, there’s a lot of exciting scenes in the show.”

Zoo airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
