Watch Tourists Endure Terrifying Encounter with a Tiger

(Video: YouTube)

A jeep full of tourists got a little too close to a tiger for comfort the other day. A video shows a large tiger in Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary (near Nagpur, India) sidling up to their open-air vehicle and pawing at the door, chewing on the side mirror, sniffing around the exposed back seats, and then slowly slinking away.

The tourists are silent throughout the ordeal, frozen in their seats (but quick enough to handle the phone camera). And you can see them visibly and audibly emerge from their tense state and as they whisper and laugh for a few minutes once the tiger wanders away.

Other cars are parked nearby on the road, but this jeep appears to be the only vehicle that is not enclosed.

The tourists’ nerves are understandable. That’s a tiger stalking around their car. And last June in the same park, a lion mauled a woman to death through an open window.
