One airline is doing more than simply transporting passengers from one city to another. They’re changing lives — one mini miracle at a time.

On Dec.9, WestJet celebrated mini miracle day, a 24-hour period where employees were encouraged to make 12,000 simple acts of kindness. The actions could be big or small, they just had to evoke a positive response from someone.

And so they went off into their communities, bringing a bit of light into the lives of those around them. A quick search of #WestJetChristmas on Instagram reveals enough kindness to make the Grinch’s heart grow ten times.

This couple is engaged, and received a little help with planning their wedding. WestJet surprised them with a honeymoon anywhere that the airline flies. With routes to Mexico and the Caribbean, it looks like they’ll get to enjoy a few fruity drinks on the beach!

Joy Hickey’s family had fallen on hard times, so she was surprised and moved when WestJet employees showed up to her home with a Christmas tree, decorations, presents for her children, and food for Christmas dinner.

“I can’t believe it, I’m so happy and appreciative, I just never thought this could happen to us,” she told CBC News after receiving the donations.

But not all miracles were in the form of gifts.

This family decided to roll up their sleeves, and do a little manual labor.

“After a fresh snow fall in YYC, my little WestJetters and I helped 10 neighbors shovel their snow,” Oultette wrote on Instagram.

At a hospital in Canada, WestJet employees simply played with sick children, giving their mother’s a much needed break. And in likely the biggest act of kindness, the Gould family was granted an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World!

When the 24-hour window closed, WestJet employees completed more than 31,783 mini miracles— blowing their goal of 12,000 out of the water.

Their mission was simple — spread a little kindness during the holiday season.

But if every recipient pays it forward, think of how truly magical this holiday season could be.
