The Man With Airline Tattoos

David Jefferys remembers the good old days of travel — when airlines like BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation, the precursor to British Airways) used to give out all kinds of neat souvenirs from vinyl records to socks. Jefferys saved numerous momentos from his world travels, largely themed around BOAC, the airline he flew the most as a child. For him, BOAC was the stuff fantasies are made of, with its enormous planes that had spiral staircases and swivel chairs. To Jefferys, “the getting there is as important as being there.” In fact, Jefferys is so nostalgic about travel, he has two small tattoos of BOAC’s logo — one on each calf.
