If only Lufthansa had made this announcement before we ranked the world’s hottest flight attendant uniforms.

Yep. In celebration of everyone’s favorite Bavarian beer holiday, cabin crews on the German airline will don dirndls on select flights out of Munich this fall. A tradition Lufthansa has held for more than half a century (since 1957, to be exact), lucky passengers on flights to Beijing, Sao Paolo, and Mexico City will enjoy pretending not to stare at the bosoms of 12 flight attendants wearing what — one might argue — is the sexiest Halloween costume of all time. Or is the flight attendant uniform itself the sexiest? Hmmm…

Either way, these traditional dirndls (in Lufthansa’s signature yellow, blue, and white) are probably a little more conservative and definitely more tasteful (but still plenty appealing). Meanwhile, the dude flight attendants will wear leather trousers and a waistcoast with a jacket. Whatever.

Actually, the Oktoberfest experience begins before takeoff at the airline’s lounges, which will be plating delicious, themed fare like pretzels, cheese, meat, and apple strudel. Onboard, first-class fliers even get gourmet duck and a shredded pancake called Kaiserschmarrn.

“The folk costume flights are a lively tradition at Lufthansa, and one which passengers really enjoy,” a company spokesperson told Malta Today. ”The response from our guests is overwhelming.” Shocking.
