Is This the Best Airlines Rewards Program Ever?

A new frequent flier program is preparing to knock out the competition.

easyJet has just unveiled their new “Fight Club,” a loyalty program dedicated to its most devoted customers.

Like in the move Fight Club, membership is by invitation-only, and is solely extended to passengers who have flown 20 or more flights or spent a certain amount of money in 12 months.

But beyond the cool name, the British low-cost airline is offering this new option to give passengers what they actually want.

“It isn’t like a traditional airline reward programme because our customers have told us that those schemes can be a source of frustration,” said Carolyn McCall, CEO of easyJet. “This is a loyalty scheme with a difference because it gives passengers benefits they really value and can access immediately.”

Membership includes free flight changes, previews of new routes, and the ability to shift the value of a paid ticket to another person up to five times a year.

Members will also receive what easyJet is calling “our price promise, which means if passengers find the same flight on easyjet.com at a lower price, the airline will give them the price difference towards their next flight.

easyJet has been testing the new program for the past 18 months, and will roll it out across its European network in early 2016.

“Fight Club” will run in addition to the “easyJet Plus Program,” which launched in 2008, and allows passengers free allocated seat choice, dedicated bag drop, and fast boarding.
