Disney Fans Surprising Reaction to New Metal Detectors

“If we’re going to be a nation of guns,” Allison Brinsley tweeted. “We need metal detectors.”

That was just one of the thousands of messages that populated Twitter after Disney announced that they were upping security measures at their theme parks in Florida and California. The Dec. 17 announcement will affect Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure.

The new measures include installing metal detectors, banning toy guns, and deploying more security guards and dogs.

Guest over the age of 14 will also be prohibited from wearing costumes to the parks.

This news comes just weeks after a terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif., where 14 people were gunned down during a Christmas Party.

On social media, the majority of people seemed to be OK with the fact that they will now have to walk through metal detectors before visiting the happiest and most magical places on earth.
