#Daydream: Valley of Dreams, New Mexico

We know how it is. You’re stuck at your desk and the day seems to be going on forever. Your mind starts to wander — at first to “anywhere but here,” but then to exotic, faraway lands where your everyday problems and stress melt in the presence of true paradise. You want to go to there, and we want to go with you. Every day at 3 p.m. Eastern, we’ll send you a picture of the place we at Yahoo Travel are daydreaming about so we can all take that mental vacation together. Let’s go to…

…Valley Of Dreams! We’re always fans of the strange and unique and this place certainly qualifies as something you don’t see everyday! This desolate part of New Mexico is full of beautifully sculpted rock formations that have been created naturally over the course of 25 million years. You’ll be mesmerized by all these fascinating forms, from the hoodoos and earth pyramids to the petroglyphs of cranes and other creatures. If all that natural wonder still isn’t enough and you’re craving some animal watching as well, keep your eyes peeled for prairie dogs. They are known to pop their heads up on occasion. Still not enough? How about lizards, tarantulas or scorpions? They all call this place home. You can go hiking, camp out, ride horses, or, ya know, just load up your Instagram feed with photos of all the amazing stuff around you.
