Boy with Down Syndrome Takes Flight in 'Wil Can Fly' Photo Series

Wil Lawrence is two-years-old, he lives in Utah, and has five brothers and sisters.

Oh, and he can fly.

That’s right, Wil’s father Alan Lawrence has photographed his son flying all over the United States, and the photos are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Lawrence started blogging shortly after he and his wife Nikki discovered that Wil had Down Syndrome. With the help of Photoshop, the proud father creates images of Wil flying over landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and the Grand Canyon. While the photos are fun, Lawrence hopes they also inspire will to achieve anything he sets his mind to.

“Wil has brought a new dimension to our family and has helped us to look past the worlds preconceived notions of normal,” Lawrence told Yahoo Travel. “We look forward to witnessing more of Wil’s unconditional love as he grows and discover how to truly live life through him.”

October is Down Syndrome Awareness month, so to help raise money, Lawrence has created a calendar of Wil’s best flying moments. Half of the proceeds from the 2016 “Wil Can Fly” calendars will go towards Ruby’s Rainbow and Reece’s Rainbow foundations.
