ThedaCare in Neenah uses technology to enhance patient care through service robots

NEENAH Wis. WFRV – ThedaCare in Neenah is using technology to help enhance patient care. Vice President of Nursing Grace Gonzalez says the service robot will allow doctors to spend more time with patients.

“This is Maxi. She is a delivery robot; Maxi can deliver labs to the lab, pick up pharmacy medications that can’t be tubed, and carry patient belongings. The ability of Maxi is limitless, and we’re still learning,” explained Gonzalez.

Thedacare will have two robots in the hospital. Gonzalez says anything you can do, Maxi can do better.

“This is a great technology that ThedaCare has invested in, but our priority is always in taking care of our patients, so looking forward to seeing what are those tasks that can be done perhaps by Maxi to keep our team members at the bedside or in their department,” said Gonzalez.

ThedaCare is the first hospital in the state to use this technology, but patients should not expect to see robots every day since they will be tasked with other duties to help medical staff.
