Electrification is rapidly taking over Mini. In addition to an all-new set of all-electric Cooper and Countryman models en route, the BMW-owned brand just showed off its latest EV in Aceman form.

Marketed as the middle ground between the bite-sized Cooper and X1-sibling Countryman, the Aceman, revealed Wednesday, will be all-new for the 2025 model year, and it's going all-electric, too. Mini says the vehicle architecture of the new Aceman is based on a fully electric drive concept, with five seats and 10.5 cubic feet of hatch space.

Offered with two powertrains, the Aceman E and Aceman SE will both be battery electric, sporting 42.5-kWh and 54.2-kWh batteries, respectively. With 184 hp and 213 lb-ft of torque, Mini says the Aceman E will do 0-60 mph in 7.9 seconds and go as far as 192 miles on a single charge. The sportier Aceman SE makes 218 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, does 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds, and makes the grade at 252 miles of range per charge. Notably, these range figures are calculated on the more generous WLTP cycle, meaning EPA figures will likely drop the range figures further.

True to its go-kart ethos, Mini says the Aceman will split the dynamic difference between the darty Cooper and the more solid Countryman. With wider tires, updated damping rates, prestressed stabilizer bars, and a steering rack ratio of 59.5 mm rack travel per turn, the Aceman is set to be quick to change direction. Taking advantage of instantaneous torque and an agile front end, the Aceman could dominate your local autocross shortly.

Keeping the electric Aceman charged up shouldn't be an issue, either. The Aceman E will have a 75-kW DC charging speed while the Aceman SE will benefit from a quicker 95 kW fast charging speed. However, the 0-80 percent charge times remain identical between the two models at just under 30 minutes, as a result of the differing battery capacities.

Between the two powertrain options, both versions of the Mini Aceman are available in four different trim levels: Essential, Classic, Favoured, and John Cooper Works. Each trim level is customized by mirror and roof rail coloring, in addition to version-specific trim pieces and badging. Standard wheel sizes will fluctuate between 17 inches and 19 inches, with a variety of aerodynamic-optimized spoke designs available for purchase.

Inside, the Mini Aceman EV follows in the footsteps of its brethren models, featuring Mini's circular central, 9.4-inch OLED display, and a remodeled hallmark toggle bar. Recycled polyester is used in the dashboard while a textile surface made of perforated Vescin creates the seats, adding supposed sustainability to Mini's modern interior design language. Similarly, with low-range figures and a metropolitan-inspired customer base, the Mini Aceman is set to be a practical, easy-to-park, stylish city car, ultimately.

"The Mini Aceman is perfect for navigating crowded city streets while maintaining the versatility and functionality of a Crossover and the go-kart feeling you can expect from a Mini. I am certain that the sleek design, the performance, and the versatility as a 5-seater Crossover, will make the Mini Aceman a resounding success," said Stefanie Wurst, head of Mini.

The Aceman EV has yet to be confirmed for the U.S. market, though it seems likely that the brand would bring its bigger models Stateside. Pricing and production timelines have yet to be announced.
