Meet Sunny: Denver’s AI-powered chatbot

DENVER (KDVR) — If you’re looking for something to do this weekend or need help with a pesky pothole, introduce yourself to Sunny — Denver’s interactive chatbot.

Think of Sunny like ChatGPT or Apple’s Siri. Now, Denver has a similar friend.

Sunny is an AI-powered virtual assistant that can be reached through text messages or online. While some other AI-powered chatbots can have conversations related to any topic, Sunny is strictly business.

Late April weekend storm: Was it the last snow of the season?

According to the city’s website, Sunny helps with queries related to city services like information about local events, trash collection schedules, parking permits and more.

If you try to have a conversation unrelated to Denver, Sunny will reply with a message along the lines of:

“I’m sorry, but I can only provide information and answer questions related to Denver, Colorado. If you have any inquiries about Denver or need assistance with something specific to the area, please feel free to ask!”

If you’re looking for specific city services or resources, Sunny answers your question or guides you to the resource or department for more information. However, if you’re looking for a conversation unrelated to Denver, Sunny’s not the one.
