Hot off its win for Best Animated Feature at this year’s Oscars, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron will soon stream on Max. Distributor Gkids has penned another deal with the streamer to continue on as the exclusive home to Studio Ghibli’s catalogue of films.

“Our subscribers are always looking for unique stories, and we are happy to continue to offer these award-winning, critically acclaimed films and to add The Boy and the Heron to our deep and rich Max content offering,” Warner Bros. Discovery’s Elizabeth Bannan said in a press release.

Studio Ghibli films have been available on Max since it debuted as HBO Max in 2020, giving the house of Miyazaki a wider audience for its films. Fans have been able to enjoy classic and modern features from Japan’s animated legacy of cinema, available with subtitles and English-language dubs.
