Online retail giant Amazon has announced details of its 2017 Prime Day sales event, once again only open to consumers who have signed up to its £79-a-year subscription service.

Beginning on Monday July 10 at 6pm, shoppers around the globe will have 30-hours instead of the usual 24 to pick up thousands of deals - including home electricals.

So if you're after new vacuum cleaner, electric toothbrush or perhaps a pressure cooker or a microwave, now is the time to buy.

How to get the best home electrical deals

Last year, there were two different types of deals: Lightning Deals, which ran for a fixed period of time with a finite number available, and Deals of the Day, which ran for the entire 24 hours.

To avoid missing out on deals, you can add them to a watchlist ahead of time and activate notifications on the Amazon smartphone app when they go live.

Amazon has not yet announced a full list of opening deals, although all members can pick up a host of daily deals here.

In the run up to the day, Amazon is also offering Prime members certain deals. The first is a trial of Amazon Music Unlimited, its music streaming service, which is £0.99 for four months, and it says there will be more from July 5.

Most deals are only announced on the day, but Amazon has released information on some planned discounts. For example, there will be a 30 per cent price cut on this stylish Philips wireless lighting set.

Amazon has also announced a number of expected savings on vacuum cleaners. A massive 65pc will be slashed off this Hoover's price, while this Black+Decker's price is expected to be cut by 55pc.

There will also be several savings for those looking to spruce up their kitchen. The excellent De'Longhi Nespresso machine, which can produce all your cafe favourites, from perfect lattes to frothy cappuccinos, is expected to be cut by 50pc. And sandwich lovers will rejoice with the news that the Breville VST074 High Gloss Sandwich Toaster will be 35pc cheaper come Monday evening.

Last year the online retailer slashed prices on Oral B rechargeable toothbrushes, cutting them to £34.99 (30pc off).

Kitchen Gadgets were also up for grabs, including knocking more than 50pc off of the Panasonic SD-2511W.

Right now, Amazon has discounts on home gadgets including £10 or more off a range of Breville Blenders and more.
