Grand Valley Transit to launch mobile ticketing

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Beginning May 1, Grand Valley Transit (GVT) riders will be able to buy passes and pay for fares using mobile ticketing.

GVT riders will need to download the Token Transit app and link their debit or credit card to purchase mobile tickets. The mobile app will offer single trip fare, day passes, one-week, monthly, six-month and annual passes for purchase and storage on the app. Once purchased, the rider just needs to activate the pass and show the driver.

Riders will still be able to pay cash on the bus at the time of boarding and purchase physical passes at the GVT Downtown and West Transfer facilities.

GVT soft-launched the app in April; riders who participated in the pilot program found the app easy to use and accessible for those who are visually impaired.
